MOLD DAMAGE

MOLD REMEDIATION

Discovering or suspecting you have a mold problem in your home or place of business can be very traumatic. Many people have allergies to mold or health conditions that make it dangerous to be around. Goliath understands this and our team of mold professionals are the best in the business. We are Florida state licensed and certified by the IICRC, RIA, and Normi to handle any size mold problem. Our remediators have years of experience and are highly trained in detecting, locating, and removing mold damage. We will remove the mold damage and stop it from spreading to other areas of the property.

Mold starts to grow when excessive water or moisture is in an area for a period of time. The amount of time can vary depending on the conditions of the space. Excessive indoor humidity, stagnant air, and dark spaces allow mold to thrive. It can start to grow in as little as 24 to 48 hours. All types of mold have the potential to cause serious health effects. Small children, the elderly, and people with compromised immune systems or respiratory disorders are the most at risk. If you find or suspect mold damage in your property it is important to call a professional as soon as possible. The larger the mold problem, the most costly the cleanup and repair.

Goliath Disaster Restoration has remediated thousands of homes and businesses. Your health and safety is our top priority. Our goal is to educate our clients and to make them feel comfortable with the process. Most mold remediation projects will follow these basic steps:

1. Identification of the source Through the use of Thermal imaging cameras, moisture detection, borescopes, and other tools we will find where the water or moisture source is located. Potential sources can include roof leaks, slab leaks, leaky water lines or pipes, areas with no air conditioning, attics, or water damage. Before proceeding with remediation the source must be stopped.

2. Containment Our remediation technicians will isolate the contaminated area in order to stop the spread of mold spores to other areas of the property. This will also help unaffected areas of the property from becoming contaminated.

3. Air Filtration Negative air machines & EMF or HEPA air Filters will run continuously throughout the project. By doing this mold spores, air borne debris, dust, and MVOCs will be removed from the air.

4. Removal, Cleaning, & Deodorization Any contaminated building materials or contents that cannot be cleaned & salvaged will be removed and disposed of properly. Carpet, drywall, baseboards, furniture, cabinets, textiles, & clothing may need to be replaced in order to prevent mold from returning. The remaining structure and contents will be cleaned & remediated in accordance with Florida state law and the IICRC S520.

5. Reconstruction & Replacement Your project manager and design team will meet with you to discuss replacement materials. A Goliath in house rebuild team assigned to your property will provide and install any replacement materials that are required to return your home or business to pre-loss condition.

Mold Testing

Goliath Disaster Restoration can also perform Florida state licensed mold testing. Some projects may require mold testing. This can include initial testing and clearance testing. This can help document the type and quantity of mold affecting the structure. This may include air testing, swabs, and tape lifts. These samples are then processed by a lab. To avoid a conflict of interest we will not perform testing and remediation on the same project. During our initial inspection of the property our trained technicians will use the amount and severity of mold damage detected to determine if mold testing is needed. Our clients will always receive a copy of any mold testing that is performed. These test results must be disclosed if the property sold.

*Mold Testing is required on any remediation project that has more than 10 square feet of mold damage.

If you need to file an insurance claim for mold damage in your home, Goliath will coordinate with your insurance company and negotiate any and all testing, remediation, and repairs that are needed. Once the project is completed you will be provided with required documentation that the mold has been remediated.
